Weaning by 12M: General Guidelines
These are general guidelines if your goal is to wean your baby by 12 months. All babies are different - they will eat more or less than this and progress at different rates. These guidelines are meant just as a guide, so please don’t stress if your baby is not exactly in these categories.
Milk in the above refers to either breastmilk or formula. If you are breastfeeding past 12 months, that’s great and these guidelines do not apply to you. The recommendation for formula is to switch from formula to cow’s milk at 12 months. There are alternative milk options for babies with a dairy allergy.
Babies are able to regulate their hunger intake themselves so if they are eating well and want to eat more than what’s listed, that’s fabulous.
